Introduction

Instruct students they will be learning about the three branches of government. Ask students to tell you what they already know about the three branches of government and write that down on an anchor chart or the front board. Make sure that you draw three columns and list each branch separately. Next, show students a short video on the three branches of government. This video asks students three questions at the end to test what they’ve learned.

Learning Objectives

Students will be able to identify and describe the functions of the three branches of government, as well as identify the people in each branch.
